Can we first talk about dust? Where the hell does it come from so fast? I had dusted prior to taking these pics.... #bloggerproblems

Now that I've cleared that up, lets talk about Nars Luminous Weightlous Foundation . I was in London when this was first released, so trotted down to Selfridges and got it slapped on my face. I decided not to invest there and then, I wanted to see how it faired throughout the day. I was honestly disappointed... It clung to my dry patches, oxidised and went extremely patchy. Not what I expected from such a hyped up product.

However, recently I gave this another go. My friends sister is as much of a makeup fanatic as me. She happened to have this, I tried it and to my surprise, I loved it! It sat beautifully on my skin, didn't oxidise and generally made me look less ill than I was. (I had sinusitis at the time). When I got home, I decided it was time.



In my opinion, it is a little more forgiving on people with normal to oily skin, rather than those with dry patches. Nothing that a good moisturiser can't sort. You can pick this up here  from Look Fantastic for £32. For me, the hardest part of choosing a foundation is choosing the correct shade. Especially as not everyone lives in or near London (as the cosmetic industry seems to believe we do).

Everytime I go into the City, I always plan on going into Topshop to pick up some of their makeup offerings. But, it's normally the last place on my list, so by the time I get there, I've already spent all my money on other stuff I really don't need. This time, I did it! I didn't succumb to the lure of other shops. So yay to me!


I have massively been loving bronzers, highlights and liner lately. That's exactly what I got. There are 2 shades in total - Mohawk and Salute, the darker, warmer of the two. Being so pale, I opted for the lighter of the two and it's is the perfect shade of brown without being to orange. I really like the matte black packaging of this bronzer and there are kind of shiny lines that look like stickers, but aren't. I checked. It blends really well and isn't dusty at all, so won't fly everywhere when your swirling your brush around in the pan. The Topshop bronzer is available for £9 here.




Star buy of the day has to go to their highlight in Horizon. I was having a bad photo day, so the pic doesn't do it any justice. It is really smooth when swatched and glides onto the skin beautifully, giving a lovely, subtle glow. This reminds me of Mac's Soft & Gentle and is a steal at just £10 available here. The packaging is in my opinion not really anything special, though does it's job just as well.

I will definitely be popping into Topshop to try out some more of their makeup very soon. What are your recommendations?

Welcome in, the Ultra Contour Palette from Makeup Revolution. I, like everyone else wanted in on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette, but I just couldn't part with the £45. I am so glad I did not give in to the hype around it and went with my instinct to try something much more affordable. I have since heard that this is a very good dupe/alternative to the ABH contour kit. Great if you don't want to blow your budget.

Housed in the standard MUR black embossed with rose gold, giving a slightly nicer feel to it. It also comes with a huge mirror, covering the whole of the inside of the lid. Great for on the go.



Bottom row L-R: The first 3 powders are the ones I use for contouring and bronzer. The first one would be good for anyone who likes using a warmer, but not an orangey brown for their contour. Or someone with a darker skin tone, as this would show up more. I tend to use the second in the row, as it has more of a grey undertone, helping create the illusion of a natural shadow under my cheek etc etc. As the last bronzer is much warmer, I use this for bronzing up my face. It leaves a really nice glow to the skin, yet could still be used for contour if you prefer. There are no rules. Although you can't really tell from the swatches, the last of the bottom row is pretty much, if not exactly the same as the 3rd colour on the top row. I'm sure if you really studied it, there would maybe be a difference to the undertone. But does anyone ever look that close?...

I have used this every. single. day. I'm not even lying! It's not the most travel friendly thing I own as far as the contour/highlight procedure goes. But I have even been taking it to the gym, for when I get ready there. If you are thinking of dabbling into the world of highlighting and contouring. I 100% recommend this palette. They all blend beautifully and last just as well as any other bronzers/highlights I own. The Ultra Contour Palette from Makeup Revolution London is available here for £8.00 from their website. If you know someone who likes to dabble into makeup, this would make an amazing stocking filler. If you haven't tried it, then you really need to. You might even like it?

 The packaging is black, simple and quite nondescript. But I like that. Both the top half and bottom half have a matte finish, which makes it feel more sophisticated than your average drugstore lipstick. So far, I haven't noticed that it leaves makeup smudges on it, as you find with the Nars packaging, which can only be a bonus! The bullet itself has Gosh embossed into it and it's quite a way down so won't get worn away straight away. Overall the packaging is extremely nice in this product.

I originally wanted a pinky nude and eventually decided on the shade 002 Rose. After getting it home I realised it is pretty much a complete dupe for Rimmel 208, not so much a bonus for me as it is for you guys. The 'freebie' I chose was in the shade 004 Coral, which is as the name suggests a warm orangey shade.



 Both of these are from their matt range, but for me they are more of a satin (not matt or very shiny). Because of this, as with most matt lippies I have come across they do drag a bit on the lips but are very opaque with a nice pigmentation. They do stay on for quite a while, but then they become very dry and patchy. I haven't tried them on with a liner yet, but I can't imagine this would help with the dryness unless it's something with a bit of moisture.


I wouldn't be much of a trustworthy blogger if I didn't give you my honest opinion now would I? So, if your looking for a budget lipstick then I would give these a go. I can't say that I will be rushing out to purchase more of the matt ones. They are available from Superdrug here, priced at £6.99 each they aren't the cheapest on the market but may be worth it on a 3 for 2 if you are wanting to try out something different.

Hi to everyone that is reading this.. I have thought about starting a blog many many times over the past few years, but I have always been too nervous. My brand was established about 18 months ago and now I am super excited to be doing this! 

The main reason I started blushmedo is because I want to write about beauty products, both high end and drug store with some lifestyle thrown in. There will hopefully be a mish mash of product reviews, product launches, hauls and the like. Obviously I am just a beginner, so join me on my journey in the blogging world.

I hope you guys enjoy what I have to say and if you have any ideas or constructive criticism towards what I write about or how to improve my blog, please let me know.
