Now that I've cleared that up, lets talk about Nars Luminous Weightlous Foundation . I was in London when this was first released, so trotted down to Selfridges and got it slapped on my face. I decided not to invest there and then, I wanted to see how it faired throughout the day. I was honestly disappointed... It clung to my dry patches, oxidised and went extremely patchy. Not what I expected from such a hyped up product.

However, recently I gave this another go. My friends sister is as much of a makeup fanatic as me. She happened to have this, I tried it and to my surprise, I loved it! It sat beautifully on my skin, didn't oxidise and generally made me look less ill than I was. (I had sinusitis at the time). When I got home, I decided it was time.



In my opinion, it is a little more forgiving on people with normal to oily skin, rather than those with dry patches. Nothing that a good moisturiser can't sort. You can pick this up here  from Look Fantastic for £32. For me, the hardest part of choosing a foundation is choosing the correct shade. Especially as not everyone lives in or near London (as the cosmetic industry seems to believe we do).

Everytime I go into the City, I always plan on going into Topshop to pick up some of their makeup offerings. But, it's normally the last place on my list, so by the time I get there, I've already spent all my money on other stuff I really don't need. This time, I did it! I didn't succumb to the lure of other shops. So yay to me!


I have massively been loving bronzers, highlights and liner lately. That's exactly what I got. There are 2 shades in total - Mohawk and Salute, the darker, warmer of the two. Being so pale, I opted for the lighter of the two and it's is the perfect shade of brown without being to orange. I really like the matte black packaging of this bronzer and there are kind of shiny lines that look like stickers, but aren't. I checked. It blends really well and isn't dusty at all, so won't fly everywhere when your swirling your brush around in the pan. The Topshop bronzer is available for £9 here.




Star buy of the day has to go to their highlight in Horizon. I was having a bad photo day, so the pic doesn't do it any justice. It is really smooth when swatched and glides onto the skin beautifully, giving a lovely, subtle glow. This reminds me of Mac's Soft & Gentle and is a steal at just £10 available here. The packaging is in my opinion not really anything special, though does it's job just as well.

I will definitely be popping into Topshop to try out some more of their makeup very soon. What are your recommendations?

Makeup Revolution have not set a foot wrong with their releases since they launched in 2014. They've gone from strength to strength, taking on high end brands in formulation and most of all price. Their New-trals vs Neutrals Palette, released just in time for autumn is packed full of beautiful matte and shimmer shadows. Ranging from neutral lid colours to very wearable coppery red shades. Along the top row the colours go from neutral to copper, to reddish brown. On the row below, you have more browns and neutral shimmers. There is only 2 mattes on the bottom row and 5 along the top. Meaning this has everything you could need to create a warm smokey eye. These are also beautiful worn alone, or with a crease colour. Perfect!



Since I came across Makeup Revolution, I have loved all their shadow offerings. This one blew me out of the park though. I ended up ordering it online, as it had yet to make it into my local Superdrug.

The packaging is definitely more than you would expect from £6.99, as the rose gold writing gives more of a luxurious feel to it. But for me, it doesn't matter so much about the exterior, because the product speaks for itself.

The shadows themselves, as with all Revolution formula's, are buttery soft with a amazing amount of pigmentation. The only one I would say gave a little fallout when applying is Strong. I had absolutely no problems with any of the others in this palette. In fact, I wore this everyday throughout October. The possibilities are endless! One of my fave looks, is to use trend blended into the crease, adding a  bit of Adapt in the socket, then using Partial or Suit all over the lid. It's bootiful I tell ya, bootiful!

My collection, was definitely missing some warm colours. I am so glad I picked this up! Makeup Revolution generally have some kind of offer on their website. I would recommend holding out for a £10 off or something like that. It makes their products an absolute steal!



Even if you don't like these particular colours, they have such an extensive range of products now, your sure to find something that floats your boat! I'm not sure if they are in store yet, but as I said, I would wait for some discount and go all out. (Don't listen to me, I'm the worst influence ever!)  It always really interests me, to see what other people put on their faces. So though I would give you all a peak into what I've been reaching for on a daily basis.

I generally go through phases with my makeup, depending on what my skin is like, the finish I'm going for and where I'm going. This makeup is more for an everyday look, but can be used for an evening look too.
I haven't included skincare in this post,  as I didn't want to make it super long. But if you would like me to do a post on my skincare routine, please let me know in the comments.



After moisturiser, I always apply eyeshadow primer. I'm not very adventurous with this as I've never had any problems with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It does exactly what it says on the tin and if I don't apply this, my shadow creases within a couple of hours after application. So I say if it's not broke, then why fix it. Right?

The eyelash curlers by Shu Uemura are my go to, as they give my lashes a nice cure without making them poke out in weird directions. I always squeeze gently at the base, then halfway up. I find this gives a really nice shape to them, while still looking natural.




For base, I have been turning to the Bourjois CC Cream in the lightest shade. This has amazing coverage considering its a CC Cream and is very good at covering redness. It does dry relatively quickly and the finish is kind of a satin to matte finish which is build-able. To apply, I either use my fingers, the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge or a buffing brush, depending on what finish I want to achieve. Using my hands, I get a natural/matte finish and this is also pretty similar using the brush. I opt for the sponge for a more dewy look.

For concealer I have long been a fan of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It is a high coverage, but using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge gives a nice finish.




For blush, I have been reaching for Charlotte Tilbury's Cheek to Chic blush in Love Glow. The idea is that you swirl your brush round the outside, apply this to the tops of the cheekbones and then use the middle colour on the apples of the cheeks to make them 'pop'. The outer ring does contain a little shimmer, but isn't obvious once applied and the centre shade is completely matte. As blushes go, it is really nice and lasts well on me throughout the day.

I don't know when it happened, but it seems I can't leave the house without highlighter on at the moment. I bought this around a year ago and didn't love it at first, but over the last few months I have really fallen in love with it. The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer is quite a well known product and is loved by lots of people and I can see why.
I apply it to the very tops of the cheek bones, down the cnetre of my nose and a little on my cupids bow. It isn't shimmery with chunky bits of glitter, but a beautiful highlight that isn't too much but leaves a subtle glow on the skin. Just bear in mind that a little of this goes a long way.

 The packaging is black, simple and quite nondescript. But I like that. Both the top half and bottom half have a matte finish, which makes it feel more sophisticated than your average drugstore lipstick. So far, I haven't noticed that it leaves makeup smudges on it, as you find with the Nars packaging, which can only be a bonus! The bullet itself has Gosh embossed into it and it's quite a way down so won't get worn away straight away. Overall the packaging is extremely nice in this product.

I originally wanted a pinky nude and eventually decided on the shade 002 Rose. After getting it home I realised it is pretty much a complete dupe for Rimmel 208, not so much a bonus for me as it is for you guys. The 'freebie' I chose was in the shade 004 Coral, which is as the name suggests a warm orangey shade.



 Both of these are from their matt range, but for me they are more of a satin (not matt or very shiny). Because of this, as with most matt lippies I have come across they do drag a bit on the lips but are very opaque with a nice pigmentation. They do stay on for quite a while, but then they become very dry and patchy. I haven't tried them on with a liner yet, but I can't imagine this would help with the dryness unless it's something with a bit of moisture.


I wouldn't be much of a trustworthy blogger if I didn't give you my honest opinion now would I? So, if your looking for a budget lipstick then I would give these a go. I can't say that I will be rushing out to purchase more of the matt ones. They are available from Superdrug here, priced at £6.99 each they aren't the cheapest on the market but may be worth it on a 3 for 2 if you are wanting to try out something different.

The colour itself reminds me of Half Baked from Urban Decay Naked palette. Its both shimmery and very pigmented, which is not something you find usually. But generally the Colourpop shadows are all pretty consistent, although there is slight fallout. I love to wear this all over the lid with a medium brown blended through the crease.




The Lippie Stix I ordered are: cookie, Lumiere, LBB, Frenchie, Bossy and I ♡ this. I have had these for about a month and a half now and I have worn them non stop. All are matte apart from BYOB, but this is not shiny at all and does set to more of a satin finish that a shine. I have been wearing a lip liner under them, as I found them to be a little dry after a while. For some reason, Frenchie seems to be especially dry and all of them do have a tendency to disappear in the centre of the lips. They are hard to reapply if your lips are wet. This could be due to that formula and longevity of them. These Lippie Stix are highly pigmented, so a steady hand is needed when applying.

Firstly, sorry about the bad swatches... I definitely need some more practice, but you get the gist. Overall, they are a lovely formula and have amazing staying power for something so inexpensive. As you may or may no know, Colourpop don't ship directly to the UK. So I used a 3rd party shipping company called mymallbox. They don't charge you anything if the don't have to repackage your stuff, only the cost of shipping. 

This landed on my doorstep this morning/afternoon (the postie is always late) and to say I was excited, wouldn't even cover it!
